Townhall Echo Syndrome

For months upon months, Townhall bloggers have been arguing that the Media, big and small, are filled with biased Liberal staffers who push their agenda upon America, relentlessly trying to sway public opinion towards their ideology of Socialism, at the expense of our Capitalistic, Judeo Christian based Republic. And now that the report the Democrats demanded from General Petreaus to be given by President Bush looks like it may not be the one they wanted, the true nature of these citizens are laid bare.

We now get Tim Robbins slandering our troops (but they support them) and Brian DePalma making a movie about a rape/murder with the openly stated intent to end the war in Iraq. Shocking, I say. The Weekly Standard notes;
Says Pete Hegseth of Vets for Freedom: "These statements reflect the utter ignorance of Robbins and DePalma about what American soldiers are actually doing in Iraq. At every opportunity, they use their celebrity status to bash the very soldiers and Marines who are fighting for them. They reflexively side with radical Islamic terrorists rather than take an honest look at the situation in Iraq."
DePalma himself says to Reuters:
"So I was forced to fictionalize things that were actually real." "The pictures are what will stop the war. One only hopes that these images will get the public incensed enough to motivate their Congressmen to vote against this war,"
So let's look at this in perspective. A handful of criminals in the Army commit a  crime, and a movie is made to disparage hundreds of thousands and change the course of our nation's attempt to defend itself from Islamic Fascist Killers who would destroy us. YET.... when literally dozens of criminals come to America and murder AMERICANS here on our streets, we have the same Liberal Progressive Democrats shouting us down, saying that the fact they are illegal aliens has NOTHING to do with the situation. Thus the clear hypocrisy of the Left and all it's subscribers.

Townhall Bloggers have been shouting about the negative spin on everything Iraq for eons now. And so we get Ralph Peters in the New York Post writing:
So why don't you hear more about our military's successes? It goes beyond the old media dictum that "if it bleeds, it leads." Plenty of journalists have staked their reps on our predicted failure in Iraq - and they hate the reversal of fortune the surge is achieving.
You mean like the AP, Ralph? They're feverishly spinning bad news about the report. Instead of honestly acknowledging our success on the ground, they spin it as we've predicted all along.
Bush's critics point to mounting evidence that while the troop buildup may have halted the escalation of sectarian violence in Baghdad, the Iraqis are making almost no headway toward political reconciliation.
The other day, Zogby made it clear. 2/3 of Democrats think we've lost the war. 4% of Republicans. Who do you think is making their opinion based on real facts? John Solz at Huffington Post comes out with a laser beam of intelligent analysis of the same facts we hear:
In short, those on the ground aren't seeing progress, and don't want to suggest a policy that would be based on the premise that progress is being made. They're not seeing progress with their eyes, and they don't see it in the statistics or facts.
"They're not seeing progress with their eyes, and they don't see it in the statistics or facts." ??? Are they kidding me? Over and over we see the truth be spun and twisted as Liberals who hate a successful strong capitalistic Republic refuse to see themselves that we can and will win a war we want to.

So fellow TownHall bloggers, this leads me to congratulate you all for being ahead of the curve on all the issues, even ahead of the main New Media voices. Consistently, I'll read analysis by the main bloggers and media outlets days after you all have been saying the same thing. Good job, all hail the New Media. This is an unprecedented era in media communications.

You mean they didn't do it after all?

Have you been wondering if there's been a problem with our military, evidenced by reports about places like Haditha and AbuGhraib? If you have, it's no wonder, we've had Congressmen declare our troops to be murderers, storm troopers, breaking into innocent homes, killing civilians, air raiding innocent villages, torturing and humiliating prisoners. The Enemedia went into full press to create the impression about the Armed Forces' work in Iraq, as being thuggish, unprofessional and frankly, just the way they described them in Vietnam.

Surprise. Nothing could be further from the truth. Last month, we saw most of the Marines in the Haditha incident have the charges dropped. And now, the NY Times cannot hide it's frustration and resentment as....
there is a possibility that no marine will be convicted for what happened in Haditha.
This hit piece drips with disappointment. Let's be real. The Mainstream Media and Progressive Liberal America hates our military as much as they hate our Republic's Capitalistic, Judeo Christian values and philosophies. But I'm especially angry at them for attacking the very people who are willing to die for them.

Remember how the world was outraged at how barbarous our military was putting underwear on the head of the Islamic Fascist Killers we had in custody? How John McBackstabber called for an end to "torture". Well, yet another teeth gnashing disappointment for the Progressive Movement Agenda championed by the Enemedia. The Washington Post was reluctantly forced to report:

The only Army officer to face a court-martial for the notorious detainee abuse at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq was exonerated of mistreating detainees by a military jury yesterday, ending a series of prosecutions that stretched over more than three years.

Why aren't these events being trumpeted as loudly as the unsubstantiated charges were in the first place?

Liberals hate America and are un patriotic, and resent our military. That means the ordinary citizens, lawmakers, journalists and members of academia who think Progressive is a better term for Communist. The can't admit it to you, or even themselves. They won't see the complete failure of Socialism in Great Britain, France, Canada or South America. They're frustrated ideologues who have no clear base of reasoning to justify their opinions, except...they hate a winner, and are working very hard to take us down.

God Bless the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

This Guy Should Run For Office

Butler County Ohio has a Sheriff named Rick Jones. Remember that name. Because he consistently flouts political correctness, and the Progressive Socialist Agenda pursued by the local Democrats, Mainstream Media and Open Borders Advocacy groups. Tuesday, here in Cincinnati (the Queen City), 160 people were arrested at a poultry processing plant. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported (to it's chagrin):
“We identified 180 people for questioning and 161 turned out to be illegal,” he said. “I think those numbers speak for themselves.”
Naturally, the Open Borders crowd was not amused:
Advocates for immigrants said the raid was an arbitrary and unfair action that hurts immigrant families and does nothing to solve fundamental flaws in American immigration law. "We’re looking for them to be not so aggressive with workplace raids until we get a comprehensive reform bill passed,” said Jason Riveiro, president of the League of United Latina American Citizens of Cincinnati.
Jason, I beg to differ. The only flaw involved with our immigration law, is the refusal of Progressive and Establishment America to enforce it. Let's all say it together......YES WE CAN. As for Sheriff Jones, he said
“If you come to this county,” ...“you can’t come here and commit a crime and go unscathed.”
My main man. Pro Criminal groups complained to the Enemedia about "fairness":

One of the main concerns for Latino leaders is that amongst the people that have been detained and put in those buses, are parents of children who's future right now, is uncertain. Jorge Neri, President of Lulac in Butler County: "Most of these kids are US citizens, they are in school right now, what is going to happen to those kids. A lot of single mom's a lot of women work in this plant."
But Butler County had a different view on options:
(Brian Moskowitz, special agent in charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for Ohio and Michigan)  tried to head off criticism by touting efforts to evaluate the workers detained Tuesday to determine if they have family or children who rely on them for care. If they do, he said, they may be released pending deportation proceedings.

Butler County children’s services officials also were at the plant to make sure no children were left without supervision because a parent or guardian was arrested. Officials said no children had been taken into the county’s custody as of late today.
These are the actions of mainstream conservative Americans who do care about our nation. In spite of the outcry by the Media and Criminal enablers, we the people demand our sovereignty be defended. I'm losing ANY sympathy I may have ever had for Illegal Aliens when their proponents try to subvert our rule of law.

So, to Geraldo Rivera, who asks, "what are you going to do? Deport 20 million people?" I answer, one or one hundred at a time. Doesn't matter to me, just keep going. And....this....Rick Jones for Governor. ASAP.

Where's the doggone fence?

UK plan: No Jailtime For Criminals

Great Britain's Socialist rag, the Guardian has polled enough Leftist Progressives (mainly women) who agree with their version of society in order to release a finding that, gasp, prisons sometimes create bad people. Shocking, I say. So it follows that we should decriminalize everything, and just be kinder to the criminals. Yeah, that's the ticket. And then we can extend that to the terrorists....then....close Club Gitmo.

The ironic part is among those polled,
Only among pensioners is there a majority in favour of expanding the prison population.

There once was a Great Britain and many of those people are still alive, but they've surrendered to the politically correct version of Socialism, and to the spreading Islamicism that will soon over take England. Funny, only France is starting to awaken to their peril.

This is the road the Progressives in America would lead us down.

The War We Should Surrender

That light bulb of intellectual power and deep foreign policy experience, Barak Obama has spoken out on yet another war. But this is the one the Democrats truly should cut & run from. It's time to cut our losses, save any more expenditures, and remove all the troops from..........New Orleans. In the New York Times, it said:
In his plan, Mr. Obama will call for creating a National Catastrophe Insurance Reserve, which would be paid for by private insurers contributing a portion of the premiums they collect from policy holders. Working with the industry before a disaster, he said, would create a “backstop” to protect homeowners and business owners against catastrophic loss.
Do you think these "private insurers" will just hand over the money? Get ready for your insurance rates to go up up up. That's what amazes me about the moderate middle. They just don't see that every time the Democrats say they are raising taxes on any business, anywhere, it's ultimately going to be paid for by us. Every single time. Wake up you sleeping idiots!

Yes, the charasmatic Obama thinks he has a brilliant plan to save the Big Easy, all filled with plans to spend your money on a losing cause. Hey Obama, "the war is lost.....bring the troops home......it's the wrong war at the wrong time......you should be attacking Houston with all your social engineers, that's where the terrorists went."

The logic of New Orleans has always evaded me. Why live in a big bowl next to the ocean? It's like the people who live out on the islands along the Atlantic, or on the sides of hills in California that turn to mud. Make it required to sign a waiver against using our money to rebuild when the inevitable happens.  The New York Post reports that it appears that in the midst of the drive to fix New Orleans:
among engineers and experts, that resolve is giving way to a growing awareness that another such disaster is inevitable, and nothing short of a massive and endless national commitment can prevent it. Despite having spent a billion dollars already, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers now estimates it will take until after 2010 to strengthen the levee system enough to withstand a 1-in-100-year storm, roughly the size of Category 3 Katrina. For now, even a modest, Category 2 storm could reflood the city.
It's time to bring the Army Corps of Engineers home. Let New Orleans go. Ray Nagin's chocolate city should become the brown of mud and seawater, and sink into the Gulf of Mexico.

Less Than A Month

Are you getting dizzy yet? The energy and momentum is swinging between the push of two incredibly powerful forces in our lives. This is real stuff, the battle for how we will defend our lives, which are endangered by Islamic Fascist Killers. The Enemedia has picked up the Democratic talking points and is spinning their news to support the Progressive agenda. The New Media valiantly tries to counter this misinformation with it's own effort.

The New York Post weighs in about the Vietnam comparison:
"Here at home, some can argue our withdrawal from Vietnam carried no price to American credibility," said Bush, "but the terrorists see things differently."

Bill Kristol writes in the Weekly Standard:
Ronald Reagan personally added the following thoughts on Vietnam to the prepared text of a defense policy speech: "As the years dragged on, we were told that peace would come if we would simply stop interfering and go home. It is time we recognized that ours was, in truth, a noble cause. There is a lesson for all of us in Vietnam. If we are forced to fight, we must have the means and determination to prevail."

Monisha Bonsai in CNS writes:
A study by the Media Research Center (the parent organization of Cybercast News Service in 2005 found that the networks-ABC, CBS, and NBC-were presenting "inordinately gloomy" coverage of the war in Iraq and downplaying or ignoring areas of progress.
The report concluded (1) network coverage has been overwhelmingly pessimistic; (2) news about the war has grown increasingly negative; (3) terrorist attacks are the centerpiece of TV's war news; (4) coverage of the Iraqi political process has been negative; and (5) few stories focused on the heroism or generous actions of American soldiers.

Some in the GOP do have the courage of their conservative convictions. Not RINO Warner, (who should retire from office), but those in the Republican party who are mounting an Ad campaign addressed to those cowardly Republicans in less than solid districts. The New York Daily News reports:

Republicans weighing a U.S. military withdrawal in Iraq got hit this week by a blitz of intimidation (?) ads - paid for by fellow Republicans. The TV and radio spots targeting 37 House and Senate Republicans urge support for President Bush's (?) war and not "surrender."

That's funny, I thought Al Queda was trying to kill us. Amazingly, in the footsteps of the Brooking Institute's  positive report about the Surge (for which the authors are now demonized by the moonbats), comes a body shot to the Democrat Anti War party. Democratic Congressman Brian Baird says:

Having been there, in the region five times and in Iraq itself two times in just the last four months, I think it’s pretty clear to me that a premature withdrawal would lead to greater chaos in the country and that that chaos would expand within the region.

If the American public would just show the same political fortitude and courage as the combat volunteers in Iraq fighting for us here at home, we can win this war in Iraq, and then keep it going against those who'd seek to destroy us. Namely, the Democratic Party.

What If It Was You?

The Turning Away. This is the sort of thing we used to read would happen in New York City years ago on a daily basis. And dismissed it as the typical New York thing. But in truth, it's an American Urban thing. As people get crammed in closer and closer to each other, they become alienated from each other, and afraid of each other. Fox news reports that in Minneapolis,
A security video from an apartment hallway shows at least 10 witnesses ignored a woman's cries for help for more than an hour as a man beat and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors in Minnesota said.
It's so easy to say, "I'd get my baseball bat or gun and go bust down that door". But the truth is, at the moment of action, most people are afraid to get involved. But to not even call police? That's the erosion of our National Character. That's the decline of American Culture. That's the lack of values that conservatives decry and the battle front and center in the Culture War, and one of the main differences between Liberalism and conservatism. Sure, it's possible that some of those who turned away were conservatives. But I don't think so. It's not conservatives who are glibly calling the retreat, cut & run, surrender from Vietnam a "success" like Time magazine contends. It takes courage and faith to stand up to evil. Much easier to rationalize and view things in a "relative context".

The More Things Change?

The beat drones on. Like a Roman war ship with men anchored to the oars, relentlessly pounding out a rhythm pushing the craft through the waves. 2007 wearily moves past us, and the scenery is blending together like the billboards on the interstate.

The Progressive Liberal Democrats are invested in our defeat in Iraq. With shame. The Enemedia works tirelessly to spin all news to fit their ideological support for the Democrats, with shame. The Congress achieves nothing (a good thing) except an all time low approval rating. Hysterical Deranged Liberals (oops I know they prefer Progressives) lash out wildly at Karl Rove and begin to wonder who they'll find to spew their vitriolic pathological hate towards, when George Bush leaves office. China continues to fill the world with cheap and dangerous goods with no quality assurance (do you have a set of their USED chop sticksd? Ummm ummm.). Russia wants a new cold war possibly to give Putin domestic support for his totalitarianism. Al Queda get picked off one by one, and has a dwindling supply of volunteers to blow themselves up (hey Osama, it's your turn). The Iranians are quieting the rhetoric and sending arms and soldiers into Iraq (is this the next war Hillary's talking about) to kill Americans. he Republicans still haven't realized that conservatism wins, and they actually need their base to win in 2008. Illegal aliens still cross the desert (where's the fence) as the politicians pay lip service to sovereignty. People are actually defending Michael Vick (????) in the latest example of the culture of victimhood. Nobody cares about Barry Bonds anymore, outside San Francisco. T A judge tells a Cincinnati Bengal it's not his fault he didn't show up for his probation appointment, it's the NFL's for promoting alchohol. You heard it, another great judicial example of the culture of victimhood.

The only thing startling me today, is that for the second year in a row, after more than a decade of failure, The Detroit Tigers are battling for first place in late August. Now that's something new.

Davecatbone's Top Ten

I'm seeing the New York Times drum up some malcontent paratroopers to aid in their countersurge and campaign to smear Gen. Petraeus. The Enemedia is ramping up like never before. The cards are on the table, and I'm getting disgusted with Progressive Liberal Socialists. I'm afraid I'll have to turn away and take a breath of fresh air for a moment. So let's talk about something else important.

Not in any particular order, my top ten Country & Western artists of all time:

Merle Haggard
Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys
Johnny Cash
Don Edwards
Ray Price
Willie & Waylon (counts as one)
Patsy Cline
Chet Atkins
Ernest Tubb
Tom Morrell & the Time Warped Top Hands

Not definitive, just my picks.

UK Enemedia Runs With Pelosi's Treason

And the hits keep coming. Nancy Pelosi besmirched General Petraeus' report before it has even been given. And now her remarks are being repackaged by the Hard Left European Enemedia. In the Times Online, in an article called

Americans doubt ‘General Betraeus’ over troop surge:

we read:

Critics, including one recently retired general, are privately calling him “General Betraeus” on the grounds that he is too ambitious to deliver a balanced report on the war.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article2284289.ece?Submitted=true

Who are these Americans who doubt this man but admire Bahir Assad? I think you know. These people don't deserve the freedoms they live under. And the Anti American journalists are quoting Pelosi's treasonous remarks freely.
Opponents of the troop surge believe that President George W Bush has been hiding behind Petraeus’s reputation for too long.
Now we will have to endure the slings and arrows of all these retired "wish I was the boss or the Democratic President" military officers like the ones who said we were bogged down outside Baghdad, or that we wouldn't be able to defeat Saddam. Anti Americans one and all. Selfish politicians.

It's time for hearings on Un American activities.

Quick Test: Assad or Petraeus, Who Do You Believe?

Do you trust the leader of Syria to tell the truth, or do you trust the finest American General? This takes no time to answer, and says all we need to know about you. Do you love America, or do you hate America? There is no nuancing here, it's wide open for all to see. The Senate Majority Leader, who is trying to undermine any positive view of our military's efforts in Iraq, Nancy Pelosi, went to Syria wearing her scarf and groveled at the feet of Bashir Assad, a thug murderer who seeks to conquer Lebanon.  A pathetically embarrassing display of her lack of fundamental knowledge about the world beyond her doorstep. And now, with the military leader of the next finest generation of Americans, ready to tell America what the progress in Iraq is, Susan Jones in CNSNews reports on Pelosi:
"For a long time the Administration has hidden behind the name of General David Petraeus, saying the September report will be his. We all knew this would be the President's report," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a news release on Thursday.
They are besmirching General Petraeus and negating the report before it has even been given. So you follow Pelosi's spin, or you do as Harry Reid said months ago, listen to the Generals. Who are you going to believe. That's what we want to know about what kind of American you are. We already know what kind of Americans Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, John Edwards, Barack Obama,  and Jon Cary are. Traitors. I don't want to hear how they care deeply about this country. I don't want to hear about how they are misguided by their ideology. There needs to be a national discussion about what the nature of treason is.

Giving aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war works for me.

Liberals Jostle For Chance To Attack Surge

Leading the lynch mob, CNN. A phony push poll with pre-decided results. Probably champagne and confetti in the newsroom when the story was launched. Guess what guys, your baloney will not fly. Harry Reid said listen to the generals, and THATS what we'll do.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A majority of Americans don't trust the upcoming report by the Army's top commander in Iraq on the progress of the war and even if they did, it wouldn't change their mind, according to a new poll.
Brazen partisan ideological media manipulation of the facts before they're even presented. At least the Europeans have a reason to hate America, but the far Left here is beyond shameful. Journalism itself is a discredited occupation. Randall Hoven in American Thinker has started a list of Journalists or "writers" caught in a lack of integrity. Starts out with 62 cases.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2007/08/its_not_just_scott_beauchamp.html

Next is the McClatchey newspapers. Leila Fadel writes:
BAGHDAD — Despite U.S. claims that violence is down in the Iraqi capital, U.S. military officers are offering a bleak picture of Iraq’s future, saying they’ve yet to see any signs of reconciliation between Sunni and Shiite Muslims despite the drop in violence.
I doubt David Petraeus will read a report with the same sentiments. We are being set up here by the Left, folks. Yes the same Leftist biased journalists who did this in the news room of the Seattle Times:
"When word came in of Karl Rove's resignation, several people in the meeting started cheering. That sort of expression is simply not appropriate for a newsroom. . . . As we head into a major political year, now's a good time to remember: Please keep your personal politics to yourself."
This account appeared in the WSJ. Why should the MSM start keeping their personal politics to themselves after the last decade of furiously trying to sway public opinion to their partisan beliefs? Joe Scarborough related this  story about the MSNBC newsroom:
And I've got to say, my first night here at MSNBC was the President's State of the Union address in 2003, and I was shocked because there were actually people in the newsroom that were booing the president actually from the beginning to the end.
The only good news about the Enemedia is this. Breitbart reports:
News audiences are ditching television and newspapers and using the Internet as their main source of information, in a trend that could eventually see the demise of local papers, according to a new study Wednesday.

"As online use has increased, the audiences of older media have declined," Harvard University professor Thomas Patterson said in a report on the year-long study issued by Harvard's Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy.

Lets' pray for the continued ascendancy of the New Media, and the death of the Old.

Talk About A Dark Horse

There is talk about who'll be the vice presidential candidate in 2008. Many people, including myself think Mike Huckabee would be a great VP if not the President. Many other names are being tossed into the ring of discussion. Reid Wilson in the RCP blog writes about the possible candidates for the Vice Presidency.
Republican Huckabee, should his second-place showing in the straw poll not be enough to carry him to the top, seems to be the most likely current member of the GOP field to wind up in the veep slot. If the Democratic nominee is Hillary Clinton, who better to serve the role of attack dog than a former governor of a state closely affiliated with her? Huckabee's debate performances have been uniformly strong, and his stump speech -- delivered without notes in Ames as others used a teleprompter -- makes even some liberals nod along in agreement. He's a conservative from the South, but one who defies stereotypes and whose easy going manner and message of compassionate conservatism will resonate well beyond Dixie.
Of course, Wilson is speculating. The presidential candidate's running mate is chosen by the candidate. So all the names like, Mark Sanford or Tim Pawlenty are just grist for the hot stove mill. Which leads to the name not mentioned. Ever. In spite of a small bloggers' campaign (not reaching the level of the Paulbots though) to (I don't know how) achieve the nomination for a little known GOP governor, there has been absolutely none (to my knowledge) talk of nominating Sarah Palin.

Petraeus Tries to Pre-Empt Iraq Tet

With the Democrats gnashing their teeth and grasping for any hint of bad news, it seemed likely Al Queda and the Iranian backed forces in Iraq would try to neutralize any good momentum swing from a positive report from General Petraeus by mounting a large scale offensive in September. And the Liberal Progressive Party stands gasping and drooling in anticipation, their accommodating Mainstream Media ready, pens in hand to spread the news that we are losing in Vietnam, oh wait, check that,...Iraq.

But Rueters has reported that General Petraeus is not going to sit and wait for the Democratic sanctioned counter offensive.
U.S. and Iraqi forces launched an offensive against al Qaeda and "Iranian-supported" Shi'ite militants across Iraq on Monday in anticipation of an expected surge in violence.
But as I've said here before, the political divide will be the fall back position for the Democrats if the armed struggle fails. That may not be enough.

In Baghdad, leaders of Iraq's divided Kurdish, Shi'ite and Sunni Arab communities held a series of bilateral talks ahead of an expected summit this week.

The summit is aimed at healing the deep mistrust that has paralysed Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's national unity government and plunged it into its worst crisis.

"Everything will be on the table. It is like the days when we were forming the government, except that Maliki himself is not going to be replaced," said a Shi'ite official familiar with the talks, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

There has been a reasonable amount of hype over the Tet like offensive, supposed coinciding with Petraeus' report. So much so, that the Democrats could be portrayed as being invested in that attack. But if General Petraeus is successful in preventing it, and there is some progress in the political front, and if more evidence of Iranian involvement in revealed, than the Democrats may have finally hung themselves. It could be one of the most spectacular September's in recent political history.

Will these times make General David Petraeus or will he shape the times?

2008 Looms for GOP Incumbents

Things being the way they've been for the last year, 2008 will be telling about the future of the GOP. Either it cracks up, or conservatives crack down, and oust the RINOs in office who refused to embrace the ideas and philosophy of it's conservative base. RINOs in congress must be wondering the same thing. MSM outlet, LA Times reports:
Taken together, these forces have winnowed the number of Republican moderates, especially in the Senate. Fewer than half a dozen Republican senators (such as Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine) still qualify as moderates. Their numbers are so attenuated that they now exert influence almost solely when they align with maverick conservatives (such as Graham, Hagel or Virginia's John Warner), whose numbers now top those of true moderates. But even combined, the two groups' size in both congressional chambers remains modest. In the House, for instance, only 20 Republicans (out of more than 230) voted against a majority of their caucus even as much as 15% of the time during the last Congress.
What's interesting, is that the political spectrum in America is now so skewed by Liberal Progressive Socialism, that Liberals like Warner, Graham, Collins and Snow are seen as moderate. That's only because the Far Left Anti War nutcase moonbats make them seem so in relative terms.

These so called moderates and mavericks are the only hope for the Progressive Agenda, and as such are enemies number one of conservatives. The Specters, Voinovich's and Warners of congress must go. There's got to be an uprising of the base in the primaries for that to happen. And it just may happen. But the LA Times asserts:
This difference is rooted in the fact that the Democrats today are much more of a coalition party than the Republicans: Polls show that only about half of Democratic voters consider themselves liberals, while three-fourths or more of Republicans call themselves conservatives. That means to win elections, Democrats depend more than Republicans on the votes of moderates -- which compels them to accept more dissent from party orthodoxy.
This is assuming independents are moderate. Recent polling suggests Independents crave a return to "Reaganism" yet dislike the term conservative. Sounds like the Great Dumbed Down Moderate Middle isn't so moderate after all, just asleep at the wheel. The challenge is for the GOP to wake them up.
